User Testing, Documentation | Microsoft Research @ MoMA’s Material Lab

I recently helped document artist using Microsoft Digital Art for the first time. A painting software still in R&D, developers needed extended video of user experience and testing to analyze for ways to make improvements the interface. I participated in a review and gave feedback the interface design, such as the functionality, icons and wire-fames, and intuitive nature of the overall system. It was a fun experience and I’d do it again anytime.

Microsoft Digital Art is a realistic painting system prototype created by Microsoft Research available exclusively as part of an interactive space at Material Lab, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.

“Microsoft Digital Art simulates the experience of traditional painting and drawing. It provides an intuitive and natural-feeling environment that allows artists of all ages to create art digitally. Microsoft Digital Art achieves a high degree of interactivity by taking full advantage of touchscreen input and realistic modeling of natural media and brush stroke effects.”
