Chinese Traditional Religion II

Taking various quotes on Chinese Traditional Religion from the adherents website to produce a wordle.  After crashing Firefox and Safari  a few times I tried different configurations of text. I finally got Many Eyes to work after I removed all punctuation and some common words. Here <broken! Fix this!> is a link to download the text block on Chinese traditional religions.

I then removed some words and changed some of the settings to see how different the wordle wouldlook …

Hinduism and Image

After researching Hinduism I decided to focus on the rich symbolism. This  map first started out as a horizontal format, but all that had to change. I wanted let the symbols to flow together and yet still be recognize a part of a distinct subgroup. The images of the God flow into those of the Lotus and Lotus into Aum (Om) and so on; yet they are still read as God, Lotus, Aum.  I experimented with using separate colors for each group and decided that color interfered with my desire for the images and text to create the flow of the map.  I did however like the more brownish henna color as opposed to the black and white.  Here <broken! fix this!> is a link to the separate images I used for this map along with images I chose not to use.
